Summer is coming — and for our friends on Barton Street, that means dangerous heat with nowhere to escape it.
For our friends that live in a tent, temperatures can reach 50°C. Even our friends that live indoors have a hard time without air-conditioning. There is a growing need for safe, cool spaces to come inside and be known.
This is also the season when donations slow down.

Sarah is one of our valued friends at Helping Hands. She faced many barriers to stabilize her mental health and get access to financial assistance so she could secure housing. She found our space when every other door was closed. She found a community where kind friends like you walked alongside her to go through her barriers. Today she sits on our board of directors, helping shape the future of this place as someone who has lived it.

A gift of $45 provides coffee, water, hygiene items, clothing, and a cool air-conditioned space for one friend like Sarah for an entire month — an open door where they’ll find friendship instead of another closed one.
